Dell announced Monday it’s intentions to buy “privately held Zing Systems Inc., a company that focuses on always-on connected audio and entertainment devices”. Yawn. Nobody cares. And for good reason. This proves, yet again, that Dell just doesn’t get it.

They go out and buy some little shitbrick piece of software that is not integrated at all with their hardware. Then they will probably bring these Zing guys into their Round Rock facilities, but farm the hardware out to some Taiwanese or Indian design house. Then they’ll sit back and wonder why sales of their new “Dell DJ” or whatever the fuck they call it are terrible and why the end user experience is just miserable.

It’s incompetence like this that keeps Apple in the #1 position.
