Actually I was referring to ProBlogger.net - Darren Rowse is a good, helpful, writer and sticks to the facts about how to monetize blogs; I'm sure Darren's blogs make more profit than most of the start ups that Arrington gives hand jobs to. Although ProBlogger isn't a "news" blog, it is very informative.

I read Mashable and TechCrunch a bit... Both of them parrot each other somewhat but at least Mashable's writers are good at compiling big lists of resources for developers (I really liked their article on great Wordpress layouts) in addition to going apeshit over dumb start ups and Facebook applications. You might want to try giving them a try but ultimately I think it'll prove to be just as frustrating and stupid as TC.

@aaron, I dont think you are referring to problogger dot net, so what are you referring to exactly? I need a replacement.

Techcrunch has moderated upwards of 35 comments "today, half were mine, several others', and a handful of Michael's responses to me. I have most of the .htm's, about 30 of them saved. He actually posted my IP address at the time (I have that screenshot too). At one point he claimed he was giving "one chance" to "get things off my chest", and his response was: "Feel better?". No countering any logic that I used, just pure condescension, truly unbelievable.

Michael Arrington is no longer a blogger in his own eyes, he is legitimate, and now he acts like the traditional media: Extreme comment moderation, downplay of "issues" in the blogosphere that he thinks are overblown (he is above these), and ZERO debate of issues with "no name" commenter, or any logical comment for that matter.

Track backs are just ways of posting a comment in response to someone's blog entry but writing the content on your own blog so readers can do it. If you happen to reference one of your own posts in another post you will end up creating a trackback between the two of them, however.

Mashable and TechCrunch both roll out nearly identical headlines these days (OMG FACEBOOK SOURCE CODE LEAK!!!!!!) I can barely stand reading either of them. Thank God for ProBlogger for providing substantive content.

Thank you for your kind words. I have enough contacts to build up the blog but my start-up is my focus. We are planning on recruiting new writers soon. Stay tuned.

"...I was one of the first people to call Michael Arrington on what I saw as increasing payola..."

Correction: The first to do it in an analytical way.

Yes, you are getting under his skin, along with others (the guy that barely speaks english has been posting there for 4 months and has never been called out until now, he was a scapegoat).

Sad, but if he does not correct his mishaps soon, he will loose his prestigious spot in the blogging world. We are fickle readers, and can switch on a dime.

I don't know anyone of value for this kind of gossip in that valley, but there have to be others than MA (most people I know live in Humboldt). J, your B2B enterprise-focused business doesn't provide you with the relevant connections, maybe your partners?

I don't think I was completely justified, but I was one of the first people to call Michael Arrington on what I saw as increasing payola and a lack of interesting stories.

The fact that he's deleting posts left and right and ending commenting is an indication that he just can't handle it anymore.

I was thinking trashing arrington was a cheap way to get content, but now I want all his bs documented. He clearly has an agenda at this point. It only became apparent in the last 3 months. Prior to that, there were theories by folks such as yourself, that I believe were not significantly justified. I hope I never set foot in that valley.

You have to admit, the guy from somewhere in asia that has the english skills of "a six year old" is annoying and continuously out in left field.
